Gurdas Maan the legendary singer, celebrates his 62nd birthday today and we are willing to wish him all warmth and blessings on his special day.
He is an Indian singer, songwriter, choreographer and actor mainly associated with Punjabi music and films. He is considered one of the most notable figures in Punjabi music. He was born in Giddarbaha village of Punjab and gained national attention in 1980 with the song “Dil Da Mamla Hai”.
He is not only a singer but also a song writer, choreographer and actor. Lyrics in his songs are full of love, care and emotion. They really touch the heart. He sings with his heart and this reflects in his voice. No wonder, since then, he has gone on to record over 34 albums and has written over 305 songs.
As an actor, he has performed in Punjabi, Hindi and Tamil movies, but he is known for his role in ‘Waris Shah- Ishq da Waaris’, a depiction of the punjabi poet Waris Shah during creation of the epic poem Heer Ranjha.
In 2013 he announced the launch of his YouTube channel to stay connected with his fans via video blogs and old as well as new music videos. In 2015 he performed on the song “Ki Banu Dunia Da” with Diljit Dosanjh in MTV Coke studio India. He is the only punjabi singer who is a national award winner for best male playback singer at the 54th National Film Awards. He is a multi talented singer who can sing in multiple languages.
